Hebrew Reading

Building Confidence, One Letter at a Time

At Chabad Tri-Cities Hebrew School, every child is supported in becoming a confident Hebrew reader. Using the AlephBeis™ Kriah Program, students build skills step by step in a way that feels clear, encouraging, and achievable.

Ages 3–12 · Every Student at Their Level

A Personal Path to Hebrew Reading

No two children begin in the same place or progress at exactly the same speed. Our teachers work with students individually and in small groups, giving each child the right level of challenge, practice, and encouragement.

Children move forward only when they are ready, helping them develop accuracy without pressure and confidence without comparison.

א

Recognize

Students become familiar with Hebrew letters and vowels until they can identify them with confidence.

בּ

Blend

Children learn how letters and vowels work together, building syllables and decoding unfamiliar words.

Read Fluently

With steady practice, students develop smoother reading, greater independence, and pride in their progress.

The Journey From Alef to Fluency

The AlephBeis™ approach breaks Hebrew reading into manageable stages, allowing students to master one skill before moving to the next.

Every Milestone Matters

Hebrew reading is more than a technical skill. It gives children access to the language of our people, prayer, and Jewish texts! We celebrate every new letter, every successfully read word, and every moment when a child realizes, “I can do this.”
