Our Team
Meet the Directors of Chabad Tri-Cities
Mottel
Rabbi Mottel Gurevitz was born and raised in the vibrant Jewish community of Brooklyn, New York—home to the Lubavitcher Rebbe and Central Chabad Headquarters. From a young age, he was instilled with a deep appreciation for tradition and a strong sense of communal responsibility, which sparked his lifelong mission to share the joy and depth of Judaism.

Mottel pursued his advanced rabbinic studies at prestigious Yeshivot in Brooklyn, Toronto, Israel, and Los Angeles. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts in Rabbinical Studies and was also awarded a First Rabbinic Degree. Upon completing his academic journey, he received his formal rabbinic ordination from the Central Chabad Yeshiva in Brooklyn.

Throughout his years as a young educator, Rabbi Mottel gained invaluable experience coordinating holiday programming, directing community events, and teaching advanced Torah classes. His passion for outreach led him to serve as a traveling rabbi and volunteer at Chabad centers across the globe, including Almere in the Netherlands, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and Bel Air, Maryland.
Nechama
Mrs. Nechama Gurevitz was raised as a Chabad emissary in Portland, Oregon, where her parents, Rabbi Moshe and Devorah Wilhelm, serve as regional directors. To broaden her scholastic and educational horizons, Nechama moved to New York to attend Beis Rivkah High School, followed by two years of intensive advanced seminary studies in Safed, Israel. She graduated with her teaching credentials from the Beth Rivka Division of Higher Learning.

Growing up in a home dedicated entirely to communal work afforded Nechama comprehensive, firsthand expertise in youth development and adult community development. With her creative leadership style, she has designed, launched, and managed a wide portfolio of innovative holiday festivals, Hebrew School curricula, and youth initiatives, alongside directing regional summer camps for many seasons.
In November of 2022, Mottel and Nechama (along with their young son, Menachem) moved to The Tri-Cities to fulfill their aspiration of cultivating a warm, welcoming, and enduring Jewish presence in the Tri-Cities. They are deeply passionate about community care and are thrilled to work alongside you to bring vibrant Jewish experiences straight to your family's heart.
